I posted a few phone pictures of the approaching rain in Elston in May and I felt sure I posted some of the fields on the road from Normanton to Kirklington around the same time but I’ve scoured my blog and can’t find them anywhere.
Elston was a lot sunnier and more pleasant looking last week so here are three pictures of the church at Elston.
As for the road from Normanton to Kirklington, this must be the only road within a ten-mile radius that isn’t called Kirklington Road. There’s a Kirklington Road that runs from Southwell to Bilsthorpe. There’s one in Rainworth. They’re everywhere round here.
All roads lead to Kirklington it seems. I’d love to know why because there’s not much to see in Kirklington. It’s a very small unassuming place.
Taking advantage of my evident oversight this gallery also contains pictures taken on the road from Normanton to Kirklington, in May when the crops were green and last week in July when it looks close to harvest time. Interesting to see the difference.
